Ministry Expansion Summary 2008
Garage Renovation The Faith Life Center North Garage will be renovated to become a School classroom for the 2008-2009 school year. After the new Education Center is finished, this classroom will be used as a multi-use meeting room for a variety of church & community needs. Work begins July 1, 2008.
Relocation of Classroom Suites The Classroom Suites need to be relocated to make way for the new Education Center. They will be relocated to an area near the Faith Life Center, and also near the new classroom in the North Garage. That makes it possible for all the elementary grades can be together in the same area. To move the classrooms across the ditch between the properties, a ramp needs to be built. After the move, the ramp will be paved to allow access to the Faith Life Center driveway creating additional access to Oaklandon Road when leaving the parking lot. Relocation will begin in July 2008. Parking Lot Reconfiguration The new Education Center will be located in a major portion of the smaller school parking lot. That requires reconfiguring the entire parking lot arrangement. The school lot will be extended to the east and the south with an additional drive extending along the east side of the building near the Commons Entrance door. (CLICK HERE). Parking lot renovations begin August 5 and continue through the early part of September 2008. Please be understanding of the inconveniences these improvements will make, and be willing to walk a little further than usual. (For Site Drawing Click Here)
Construction of Education Center The new 2-story Education Center will include 6 additional classrooms, a multi-use/gymnasium space and some support space, as the first phase of a multiphase construction project that will eventually include 24 classrooms. Construction will begin in September 2008. See plans below.
Without Additional Debt! The entire project is made possible through the contributions pledged and made to the “For Those 2 Come” Capital Campaign, without impacting the ministry budget. Thanks to everyone who made a pledge and for keeping up with your commitment.
